The Thousand Years

 Revelation 20, 

New Catholic Bible   

1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, with the key to the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 

2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and chained him up for a thousand years. 

3 He threw him into the abyss and locked and sealed it over him, so that he would not again deceive the nations until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released, but only for a short time.

4 Next, I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given the authority to judge. I also saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for bearing witness to Jesus and the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. 

6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them. They will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.

7 When the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison 

8 and will emerge to lead astray the nations in the four corners of the earth —Gog and Magog—in order to gather them for battle. They are as numerous as the sands of the sea.

9 They marched across the breadth of the earth[f] and laid siege to the camp of the saints and the beloved city. However, fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 

10 The devil who had led them astray was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been flung to be tormented day and night forever and ever.

11 Preparation for the Judgment. Then I saw a great white throne, and the one who was seated upon it. The earth and the sky fled so far from his presence that they could no longer be found.

12 The Resurrection and Judgment. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and the scrolls were opened. Then another scroll was opened, the book of life, and the dead were judged according to their deeds, as were recorded in the scrolls.

13 The sea gave up all the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them. The dead were judged according to their deeds. 

14 Then Death and Hades were hurled into the fiery lake. This fiery lake is the second death. 

15 Anyone who was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the fiery lake.

20 He answered, “Because you have such little faith. Amen, I say to you, if you have faith as tiny as a mustard seed, you will be able to say to this mountain: ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. 

21 But this kind of demon does not come out except by prayer and fasting.

The Son of Man must be lifted up

the Book of John 12:34-50

34 The crowd spoke up. “The Law tells us that the Christ will remain forever,” they said. “So how can you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this ‘Son of Man’?”

35 Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light. Do this before darkness catches up with you. But they wouldn’t admit it for fear that the Pharisees would expel them from the synagogue. 43 For they loved human praise more than the praise of God.

44 Jesus shouted to the crowds, “If you trust me, you are trusting not only me, but also God who sent me. 45 For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me. 46 I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. 47 I will not judge those who hear me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. 48 But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken. 49 I don’t speak on my own authority. 4 No longer will they call you "Forsaken",

    or name your land Desolate.

But you will be called "My Delight is in Her"

    and your land will be known as "Married";

for the Lord will take delight in you,

    and your land will be his spouse.

5 As a young man marries a young woman,

    so will your Builder marry you;

as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,

    so will your God rejoice over you.

11 The Lord has made proclamation

    to the ends of the earth:

“Say to Daughter Zion,

    ‘See, your Savior comes!

See, his reward is with him,

    and his recompense accompanies him.’”

12 They will be called the Holy People,

    the Redeemed of the Lord;

and you will be called Sought After,

    the City No Longer Forsaken.

Jerozolima, Oblubienica Pana

when I took them by the hand

    to lead them out of Egypt,

because they did not remain faithful to my covenant,

    and I turned away from them,

declares the Lord.

10 This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel

I will put my laws in their minds

    and write them on their hearts.

I will be their God,

    and they will be my people.

11 No longer will they teach their neighbor,

    or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’

because they will all know me,

    from the least of them to the greatest.

12 For I will forgive their wickedness

    and will remember their sins no more.”

13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

Ludzie jednak nie dali rady sprostać wymaganiom Prawa. Dlatego Jezus musiał umrzeć za nasze grzechy abyśmy jako wierzący byli niewinni w oczach Boga.

Teraz poprzez Jezusa stajemy się Rodziną, Bog każdą osobę wierzącą widzi tak niewinną jak niewinny jest Jezus.

30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii[e] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’

36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”

37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”

Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”

What it Means to Inherit the Kingdom of God

 It means your inheritance is the Kingdom of God

Galatians 5:19–21

What it means to trust Lord Jesus and walk with Him to gain the Kingdom of God.

You do not earn inheritance like you earn a paycheck.

You inherit when you belong to a Family.

When your mother or father dies you come to inheritance just because you are in Family.

Bible treats death of Jesus as that kind of transaction of the way we come to inheritance.

Romans 4:13

 It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.

So inheritance is summed up here as the World.

Gentiles who belong to Jesus inherit the world.

Galatians 4:6-7

6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.

Romans 9:6-8

6 It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. 7 Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”8 In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring

So here we have a shift from offspring of Abrahan to Children of God.

Those who trust in the Lord Jesus are counted as Children of God.

We inherit the Kingdom by trusting and belonging to Lord Jesus who is the Son of God.

What is inheritance of the Kingdom of God?

Matthew 5:5

Blessed are the meek,

    for they will inherit the earth.

So all the earth will belong to believers, followers of Jesus.

Matthew 25:34

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

So Kingdom of God becomes our Kingdom.

As the Children of God we inherit:

earth

world

Kingdom

salvation

promises

Paul sums it all up:

1 Corinthians 3:21-23

21 So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours, 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, 23 and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

So belonging to Christ who belongs to God makes you heirs of everything.

2 Timothy 2:11-12

11 Here is a trustworthy saying:

If we died with him,

    we will also live with him;

12 if we endure,

    we will also reign with him.

If we disown him,

    he will also disown us;

the peace of God, which transcends all understanding

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 

9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 

10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 

11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 

12 It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 

13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. 

14 This is why it is said:

“Wake up, sleeper,

    rise from the dead,

    and Christ will shine on you.”

15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 

16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 

17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 

18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,

God’s Marvelous Plan for the Gentiles

Cudowny plan Boga dla narodów świata, które nie były Hebrajczykami.

 Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you, that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation the mystery of Christ, 

5 which was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets.
